EXPERTISE
Marina has practiced with Swanson & Bratschun since January 2009. Marina drafts and prosecutes patent applications in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals worldwide. She also prepares patentability and Freedom-to-Operate opinions and conducts due diligence. She has assisted with U.S. and foreign litigation and with the management of client patent portfolios.
Prior to commencing her legal career in 1999, Marina completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology in San Francisco, California after having obtained her Ph.D. from the University of California San Diego in Biomedical Sciences. Marina’s research, both translational and “basic science”, focused on the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
