
EXPERTISE
Tony has practiced with Swanson & Bratschun since April of 2009. He drafts and prosecutes patent applications in the U.S. and internationally in the practice areas of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. He has experience in various aspects of client counseling including U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate opinions, infringement and validity opinions, and overall due diligence reviews.
Prior to working for Swanson & Bratschun, Tony obtained his Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Cell and Molecular Biology. His thesis focused on the genetic engineering of bacteria to increase ethanol production efficiency. Tony has worked on contract for the United States Patent and Trademark Office examining Patent Cooperation Treaty applications. He also served as General Counsel for a renewable energy company, negotiating and drafting acquisition agreements, employment agreements, and private stock offerings.
Tony enjoys hiking, mountain biking and spending time with his wife and young children.
